Palisades Zoysia
Palisades Zoysia is a medium broad textured, high-density turf suitable for residential lawns, fairways, and sports fields. It is a low maintenance turfgrass known for its shade and drought tolerance. Palisades Zoysia’s rapid recuperative ability makes it a grass that can withstand a high volume of foot traffic.
SHADE TOLERANCE
- Good to excellent
DROUGHT TOLERANCE
- Daily (3 inches) for first 2 weeks
- Daily (reduce water) for next 2 weeks
- Once established, watering needs will vary based on soil type
MOWING
- Ideal height: 1.5 – 2 inches
- Every week during growing season
- Sharp rotary mower or reel mower
- As golf course fairway or sports field, 2 weekly mowings (1/2 – 7/9 inch)
MAINTENANCE
- 3 – 4 lbs of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year (high quality maintained)
- 1.5 – 3 lbs of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year (high quality, low maintenance)
SOIL
- Tolerates wide range
- Best suited for well drained, fertile soil
- Ideal pH range: 6.5 – 7
